Fed Cup Did Somebody Good

In the battle of last year’s big/somewhat-a-things, Melanie Oudin pwned Sorana Cirstea 63 60 in Paris today.

This, in the trade, is known as ‘upwards momentum’ for Mel. Sorana, on the other hand, would do well not to let that sophomore slump grow too severe.

What an awesome week for Melanie. She’s not going away. She might not be consistent at all for the next couple of years, but she’s not going away.
(at least I don’t think she is…)

I don’t think so, either.
The thing is that she’s still really new on the tour, and there’s normally quite a shakedown period. I’m willing to cut her all sorts of slack (while still mocking her gently, naturally.)

She needs gentle mocking. It’ll be good for her.
But watch out, I’m pretty sure she bites back =)
