Further woe for the reduced field as seeds Juan Monaco and Albert Montanes were beaten, while Tommy Robredo trailed a set and a break before being forced to retire.But hey, Jeremy Chardy won a match. It’s not all bad.

I really think Pico should just have surgery on his wrist now — his results since announcing he’d need surgery after Roland Garros are two first round losses so I don’t think playing through the injury is working, and all I can see happening is further injury and damage to his confidence. *sighs*
