This blog is the greatest thing since sliced cheese! Discovered it a few weeks ago, after surviving the harrowing experience of seeing Elf loose to Moray Eel here in Montreal (almost died of heat stroke myself but it was worth it to see the Tower of Tandil in all his sweaty shorts glory) fell madly in love with him and been hunting him down all over the internet since… and oh what joy to discover that I am no longer alone in my love/ossesion/devotion towards that big piece of talented eye candy! I am now hooked to this blog and need my daily fixes badly. Fantastic work, keep it up!

I found you through Forty Deuce, and I’m so glad I did!
I’ve been a huge fan of JMDP since the Masters Cup at the end of last year, and then I was lucky enough to see him play up in Auckland at the Heineken Open. After that, the rest was clearly history.
Thanks for posting all the wonderful photos of Elf (among others) and generally being hilarious

To be honest, I’ve been doing it for such a long time I barely even remember any more. I think it was back in the summer of 2008 when he had his great American run and was a wee bit skinnier than he is now. What with being so tall and lithe and (to my eyes) oddly beautiful, he just reminded me of a Lord of the Rings-style elf. Except tall and tennis-playing and Argentinean and quite hairy and clumsy. I didn’t have this blog (or any blog) then but other commenters at tennis.com picked it up, as did C Note at Forty Deuce and it just kind of became second nature, really.

It makes perfect sense. I don’t considere him handsome, but I agree with the Elvish thingie. To be honest, I prefer guys like Feña… but since JM (as I call him) is my fellow countryman, I always follow him and try to read what the fans say about him.

omg i love your blog ! it is hilarious ! im a huge marin and del potro fan so u can imagine my excitment when i discovered your blog the other day ( i spent hours going through previous blog entries on ‘elf’ and marin and lol-ing at your comments). had the best time lol. its so good to know that im not alone in my marin cilic and juan martin obsession ( however mildly unhealthy it is lol)
