RG Day Three: ATP Round-Up

Posted by gauloises1 on May 27, 2009

And on the penile side …

Novak Djokovic was denied a tough test by veteran clay-courter (and freaking sex god) Nico Lapentti, who rolled an ankle in the second set and was forced to retire.

Bad luck for Nico and kitten. Still, maybe it’s good that Nole doesn’t expend too much energy too early. He’s going to need it.

Twenty-seventh seed Schuettler was double-bagelled by Marc Gicquel, but took it well, apparently, milking the cheers of the crowd when he finally managed to get a game. Nadal-beater (yes, in an exo, I KNOW) Brian Dabul was a slight blemish on Argentina’s record of the day, falling to Sergiy Stakhovsky in four. Tommys Robredo and Haas advanced, as did Gimeno-Traver after Evgeny Korolev, the Kournikova Kousin, was forced to retire after a set.

And it was not a good day for wunderkind Bernard Tomic, who needed medical attention just to lose to Philipp Kohlschreiber in straight sets.

Someone get the Atomic B a sandwich, please.

My brain for a second refused to believe that someone retired against Novak Djokovic isntead of the other way around.

Because of the head band thing I always expect to see nunchucks in Tomic’s hand instead of a racquet.
