Eastbourne & Wimbledon Qualies: Normal Service Resumed

Posted by gauloises1 on June 17, 2009

So all Brits everywhere ever lost today.

In the men’s qualifying, Daniel Cox lost to Prakash Armitraj, while in the women’s Broady, Elliott, Thomas, Webley-Smith and Curtis racked up an impressive one-day total of losses. The sole bright spot came in the form of Naomi Cavaday, who defeated Fujiwara.

At Eastbourne, wildcard Josh Goodall was defeated in the second round by Ivan Ljubicic, Elena Baltacha lost to Li Na Na Li, and Anne Keothavong bowed out to bad mama Sybille Bammer.

Bad Brits! Back in whatever other weird dimension you inhabit for eleven months in the year! No “c’mon Tim”s for you!

Well, except you, Cavaday. You can have one. (She once broke Venus Williams’ serve, you know. And had match points against Martina Hingis.)
