Wednesday WTA Results: Prague, Palermo

Posted by gauloises1 on July 15, 2009

Easy business for the top seeds in Palermo today, with Francesca Schiavone, Sybille Bammer and Carla Suarez Navarro all moving through to the next round without dropping a set. Seventh seed Lucie Hradecka had a tougher time of it, but prevailed over Karolina Sprem in three, going for a little lie down to celebrate.

In Palermo, Flavia Pennetta beat countrywoman Roberta Vinci, but there was some Italian joy as Tathiana Garbin defeated Bastad champion Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. And Patty Schnyder finally turned up and won a match.

Did you change the format of the blog or did 1) my computer decide to play tricks on me or 2)I get really drunk?

I hope Flavia wins Palermo. Not terribly sure why.
