Toronto: Kim Tops Tim, Venus in Bond-age

Posted by gauloises1 on August 19, 2009

Hahahaha … no? Anyway, Venus Williams lost in three sets today to Kateryna Bondarenko. Yeah. This girl.

Bondarenko actually played a good match, doing particularly well to hang in there after losing the first set 16, and serving out the match at the first time of asking. But really, there’s no way that Venus should ever have lost to her unless she was on particularly dreadful form, and funnily enough …

I’m beginning to wonder if even the ‘Slam factor’ will be enough to rescue Venus’ play from the depths it seems to have plummeted to since Wimbledon. Anyway, well done to Bondarenko. At least she was pretty cool about it.

Or not. In other news, the Kimmy Komeback continues, with the Belgian rolling over Elena Baltacha (she’s brave, you know) in straight sets.

Seriously, how did she even get in this tournament?

Azarenka, Pennetta, Ivanovic and Cibulkova all recorded wins today too.

Bondarenko should be a professional mime.

Definitely looks like she’s sitting in an invisible chair in the first picture.

I’m so mad at Venus. I’m not sad, I’m MAD. Get it together girl, you’re running out of time to rack up some more majors. I’d like you to get three more- one more Wimby, another USOpen, and the Australian Open (no reason Venus shouldn’t win that one once) but YOU’RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.

Also- WHO beat Dani? Is it okay that I don’t know? Does she know? Does anyone know?

And yes- the Bond. sisters should totally start a mime act and stop annoying me by doing nothing ever and then beating my favorite players.

Vee is just unfreakingbelievable, how can she be so mediocre on HCs in North America especially, get it together girl, your’e double winner of Wimby and the USO 2001-2002…60 UFE’s…

Linz, I hear you, time is so running out, she’s already 20 and she’s still making teenage Vee errors?! Whatevs, I’m soo over it, I now have no hope for her at the USO…she’s just sucking at the moment b2b WTF losses, yep, as you can tell, I’m very bitter.
