Beijing: My Feelings Are Always Wrong

Posted by gauloises1 on October 10, 2009

I didn’t blog yesterday, but if I had, it would have included an admission of error on my part for persistently implying that Dementieva would win this tournament. She lost to Radwanska in the quarterfinals, who then beat Bartoli in straight sets today to make her first final of the year. Did not see that coming. She’ll face Kuznetsova, who has made it to the final every time she’s played the China Open. Must be something in the air.

This finals showing keeps Radwanska’s Doha hopes alive, and also ensures a return to the top 10, displacing Flavia Pennetta. And Kuznetsova eclipses Caroline Wozniacki for the no. 5 ranking.

OMG Sveta’s thigh in that photo is TERRIFYING.

But a Sveta-Aggie final? AWESOMENESS. Two of my favorite females.

Don’t be hard on yourself, after whole year of quarterfinals it is surprising to see Aga making that amazing finish. But I am so happy for her to show positive emotions on the court, maybe it is a sign that Aga will get that 5 title of her career! Dad is not around, she is having monkey of her back!
