Linz, Osaka: Peer, Shvedova Out

Posted by gauloises1 on October 13, 2009

So I can’t find a single photo from today. Admittedly I have creeped myself out by thinking about Point Horror(s) and am now not looking that hard because I have to keep glancing over my shoulder in case, you know, there’s a shark with a pole there phoning me or something.

Anyway, not a madly exciting day today. In Linz, Carla Suarez Navarro actually won a match, as did Urszula Radwanska, putting out wildcard Yvonne Meusberger in straight sets. And in Osaka, we’re two seeds down already; Shahar Peer lost to Sania Mirza in a battle of I’m-more-famous-for-my-country-of-origin-than-my-tennis, and Yaroslava Shvedova went down to Mathilde Johansson. Maria Kirilenko was forced to retire against Viktoriya Kutuzova with a knee injury. And Katie O’Brien made a fool out of me by beating Alexa Glatch in straights. C’mon Tim!
