Sunday Titlists: 2007 Again For Baggy and Schiavone

Posted by gauloises1 on October 25, 2009

At least it was for two of today’s finalists, Francesca Schiavone and Marcos Baghdatis, who both won their first singles title since 2007.

Baggy won 61 75 over Olivier Rochus, who admitted he was tired after playing back-to-back three setters to reach the final. It’s really good to see Baggy back in the winner’s circle on the tour; looks like dropping down to Challenger level for a while paid dividends.

Also turning back the years was Francesca Schiavone, who defeated Olga Govortsova 63 60 for the WTA Kremlin Cup.

Amazing face.

Francesca’s last title came in Bad Gastein in 2007, and before today she was 1-10 in finals. Plus she’s adorable. It’s all good.

can someone explain what does “before today she was 2-10 in finals” if she had only one title before today. aren’t she 2-10(or 11) in finals starting today.
    ??? thanks.

I’m slightly scared that Baggy’s going to drop that heavy-looking trophy.
