Roddick Out, Robin In

Posted by gauloises1 on November 18, 2009

Sad and totally unsurprising news; Andy Roddick has withdrawn from the World Tour Finals, to be replaced by Robin Soderling.

This is still as the result of the knee injury he suffered against Stan ‘Roddickryptonite’ Wawrinka, although The Times reckons he may still pop in for everyone to cheer.

It’s a bugger, frankly, but there you are.

So I had decided about a week ago that he wasn’t going to come and I had accepted that, but then this whole “will-he-or-won’t-he” speculation of the past few days nearly killed me.

It sucks. The crowd would have been pulling for him and it would just be nice to see him compete again. I miss it an ungodly amount. But I think it’s absolutely the best decision for him, I just hope he can regear and be ready to go for 2010. He has lots of points to defend right out of the gate. But I’m going to wait a month or so before I start frazzling over that (yeah, right…).

    GET WELL ANDY!!!!!!
