Delpo, Soderling Doubtful for Australian Open

Posted by gauloises1 on January 14, 2010

Juan Martin del Potro and Robin Soderling are both in doubt for the Australian Open after withdrawing from Kooyong with injuries. A wrist injury – presumably the same one he suffered from last autumn – forced Delpo to skip his match against Tsonga, while Soderling retired against Ljubicic after losing the opening set 64 with elbow tendinitis.

Soderling’s been optimistic about recovering for the Open, but no word from Delpo as yet.

This news is so dispiriting I don’t even know what to say about it, so have a shirtless picspam of Delpo instead.

Also. On the scale of Delpo news — the Delpometer, this ranks round about the sadness scale.

Shirtless Delpo, in my room 😯 — Shirtless Delpo 😀 😛 — Delpo losing 😦 –***THISNEWS***– Delpo retiring 😥 — Delpo out for the season 😯

We can’t find anything new with regard to the Elf in the Argentinean press…I’m hoping he just withdrew from his match as a precaution? I’m hoping he’s healthy and feeling no pain when play starts. *keeping fingers crossed*
