Like a Fine, Fine Wine

Posted by gauloises1 on February 15, 2010

He just gets better with age. Juan Carlos Ferrero captured his thirteenth career title in Costa do Sauipe yesterday, defeating Lukas Kubot 61 60.

Hotter than ever.

Protocol dictates I give a shout-out to second-time ATP finalist, Poland’s Lukas/z/sz Kubot. He isn’t my favourite player, for no particular reason, but his progress up the rankings of late has been seriously impressive and almost unnoticed. He’s now up to no. 48. Check it out.

Now that’s over …

Don’t pretend this doesn’t turn you on.

Oh, and did I mention it was his 30th birthday?

Show that cake who’s Boss.

In only marginally-related news, I realised I’ve been spending (Christ on a bike) spelling ‘Costa do Sauipe’ wrong this whole week, and ‘Lukasz Kubot’ wrong for even longer. Sigh.

BOSS!!!!! Delicious. Seriously, at the USOpen he was one of the most striking players in person. So happy he’s still winning. He needs a bigger trophy though- I do not like when the winner and the runner up trophies are the same size!!

Also, not to be *that* person, but the spending/spelling typo made me LOL, which was much MUCH needed today. So thanks.

It is so exciting to see that Juan Carlos Ferrero is winning after a difficult start to the year. People have been calling him “old” at 30. As I am 45, I find that very offensive. Keep up the good work, Juan Carlos!
