All Bromantics End the Same Way

Posted by gauloises1 on February 22, 2010

Poor John Isner. He was a set and 5-2 up in the second set tiebreak up on Sam Querrey, and couldn’t close the deal.

I wasn’t watching the match – bit involved with a pair of sexy Spaniards at the time – but from all accounts, Isner somewhat choked. Great work from Querrey to hang in there and take advantage, but a tough, tough loss for Isner. Still, it’s a great result for Querrey, bouncing back strongly after his whole glass-table incident.

Fortunately for team spirit, the pair went on to win the doubles and celebrated by bringing their mums on to court:

Damnit, that’s just sweet.

Their moms are stylish! Go moms.

Also, on a (further) superficial note, Querrey’s kit makes me wanna run and cry. And is his hair always that … yeller?

The mom picture is just too much. TOO MUCH.

Johny choked, which was strange to see these days, but Sam stayed cool as always and cruised to the victory. I was glad Isner was so sad at the end of this match- shows how much it meant to him- that’s good, he needs to stay hungry. I’ve had reason to question his drive before, but I’m glad he’s proving me wrong.

They are both right outside the Top 20 (literally- 21 and 22) and have no points to defend until late June/Julyish (I’m not going to look that up right now), they both seem destined to just keep on climbing up the rankings. Pretty crazy, really. I’m really curious to see how they do in DC and in IW/Miami.

    And from Sam’s twitter

But more importantly, those are tiny mom’s for such giant boys.

How tall is Isner’s mom? He doesn’t seem to tower over her (I meaan he towers over everyone, but it doesn’t seem as much), so she must be pretty tall.

Agreed about Sam’s kit – does it even match?
Sam looks just like his mom.

This match was strange – as a fan of both of them I felt weird cheering against one or the other. I thought it was weird that they had to put all that aside and play doubles. This tennis world is crazy sometimes!

Aw they are so cute. I’m glad they got the doubles win so John had some reason to celebrate.
