Back-to-Back Bossage in Buenos Aires

Juan Carlos Ferrero, the man, the myth, the golden years. He beat David Ferrer 57 64 63 for his second Copa Telmex title in as many weeks – the first time he’s won back-to-back titles since 2001.
Hands up if you’re loving JCF’s late-career renaissance.
To be honest, I was in a haze of “OMG the grunting” for most of this match, so I can’t really speak to pertinent tennistical matters. I would say that while neither played particularly well during the third set, Boss had that little bit more energy and focus – probably because he only had to play one match yesterday as opposed to Ferru’s two. Still, it was a proper clay-court set-to between two players who know each other’s games incredibly well and both really wanted to win. Great stuff.
They love the shirt-change photos in Argentina. And rightly so.
Fair bit of drama queenage from both.
Lest anyone think there were any hard feelings, they spent much of the trophy ceremony giggling with each other:
And a good time was had by all.
