Indian Wells: JJ!

Posted by gauloises1 on March 22, 2010

Now this I am sorry I missed.

Jelena Jankovic took her first title of 2010 (and her biggest in quite some time), defeating Caroline Wozniacki 62 64 for the WTA Indian Wells title. En route she defeated Shahar Peer, Alisa Kleybanova, and Sam Stosur. That’s a nice week’s work, JJ.

Snezana thinks so too.

OK, so she’s not quite the JJ of old, but she’s not quite not, either. And she’s just as endearing in victory as I have always found her.

More of this, please.

And congratulations to Caroline Wozniacki, who beat Agnieszka Radwanska to reach the final and rose to no. 2 in the rankings, displacing Dinara Safina. Nice.

I love that they made a trophy that the winner is incapable of lifting.. Surely only Serena could lift that mother and she ain’t ever going back… it is kind of like the excalibur of trophies, only the REAL #1 can lift it!!
