Elf Comes Home

Posted by gauloises1 on May 7, 2010

Juan Martin del Potro (yes, we still care about him more than anyone else) has returned home to Argentina. He’s alive! I consider this the first hurdle successfully passed. He’ll have to go back to the US in 15 days to check on the progress of the wrist, though.

Why is he pushing that thing himself?!

Delpo said that the surgery had left him more relaxed and he was going to concentrate on relaxing and enjoying himself rather than concentrating on the tournaments that he’s missing, the ranking points he’s losing, the fact that the best years of his career are passing him by, etc. All of which is eminently sensible.

On a sweet note, he said that he’s had calls from Federer and Nadal, and that Andy Murray had written him an email. Presumably saying something other than “your mum”. Federer also had some encouraging words in Estoril today. Love the support. Love it.

Oh, and there’s glorious, unintelligible-to-me video here.

My heart is melting. And pounding. Hard.

So happy to see him, it’s flirting with pathetic.

As if someone needed to put a sign up telling us he is a Fox. pfft. really we are not blind.

I can’t get the video to play. 😦

Very happy he’s home and in seemingly good spirits!

LOL, he really SHOULDN’T be pushing that cart himself right after wrist surgery, right?

    TE QUIERO YOU, JUAN!

Also I like his jacket. As usual, he looks like a JAZZY SNAZZY HOTTIE TOTTIE!

    • Saoirse said

WHAT? The jacket?? We haven’t seen him for what feels like decades and you notice the JACKET?? WHO ARE YOU??

Let’s hear it for that Godlike hair and all the sexy hairiness going on shall we. IRTTY, you need to get your mind back in the gutter pronto! Bad stalker, bad!

*sigh* Can you still climb the Tower of Tandil while locked in Daveed’s punishment box??

He’s smiling, his hair is lovely, his voice is as gentle as ever and he’s at least half a head taller than all the other men there. My spirits are oddly lifted! Now if only he’d do a video each week for us. And maybe speak some English. 🙂

I love that the players have been supporting him. And I really like that Murray sent him an email. I have theorized for a couple of years that the Rome 2008 incident was a rough start to what would become a bromance. They have been thawing and in 15 years they will be taking family vacations together. I know it.

He has a good, calm (non-sad) demeanor in the video. Heal well kiddo and come back guns blazing!

I say we hop on planes to Argentina, find him in VIP section, let him lend us his sweater…

*Swoons* How sweet. And it’s nice that he got messages from Nadal and Federer of all people! 😀 LMAO at your comment about the email from Murray. I demand a Delpo in every home, but I’ll settle for his image (yeah, sacrilegious I know) capured in a doll (lifesize please). That’s not unhealthy? Is it? *blush*

He’s looking as lickable as ever.

According to the Argie press, JMDP said he spoke on the phone with Nadal and Federer, and received a SMS from Murray.

My bad, I can only go by google translate and as you can see from the link, it said ’email’.

why “Nadal and Federer of all people!”?? Both those guys are renowned for being thoughtful and checking up on players in trouble. sheesh.

Oh my sweet lord *rubs eyes* is that really delpo, in the present day? speaking and walking and un-wisely pushing a airplane trolley thing?? I do believe it is! It is beyond awesome to hear his sleepy mumbled voice after soo sooo long, if only the news was better. but still his alive and such so i’ll take it!

I miss Delpo but I gotta get used to that I guess… ='(
