The Withdrawal Method: Nole Out Of Rotterdam

Posted by gauloises1 on February 4, 2011

Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic has pulled out of the ABN AMRO 500 in Rotterdam next week, citing a shoulder injury which will reportedly prevent him from practicing for a week. He did, let’s recall, have that shoulder taped in Melbourne.

Any excuse for topless, bendy, victorious, gasping Nole …

Let’s hope it’s preventative and he just needs a little rest after his feats in Belgrade and Melbourne. Soderling and Murray are still in the Rotterdam draw.

Meanwhile, Novak has been being unbearably hot at a watch shop, or something. I don’t know. Does it matter? He looks hot.

There’s also a video of the visit, courtesy of Noleksa on twitter. If you can’t get enough Nole – and who can? – check it out.

I can’t get over those earmuffs on Whatsherface … not that I don’t like them, in fact I sort of want them, I JUST FIND THEM AMUSING.

(yet another comment by me that has really nothing to do with anything tennistical at hand: SCORE)

I find it annoying that she still looks incredibly attractive with earmuffs on. I always look beyond ridiculous, and she still looks gorgeous. PFFT. 😉

If you can actually manage to look past the oversized earmuffs, you’ll also notice that she has a ridiculously victorian ruffle jacket AND Minnie Mouse gloves on.

Let it be known that I’m not even a tiny little bit envious of her good looks and stunning arm candy. OBVIOUSLY.

I’m really glad Nole pulled out of Rotterdam — I’m fairly certain the tournament doesn’t even count toward his ranking points right now so I didn’t think it was necessary for him to play at all. I think taking a bit of a breather is the right call after his win, as I think he’s still planning on playing Dubai so he’ll still be able to get some play in before IW and Miami if he wants.

agreed amylu – i think he really needs a bit of downtime after davis cup and now taking the aussie open in such style. He needs to recharge both the body and mind, so he’s ready to go in Dubai. Or IW. SUCH a big change in him from this time last year, where he was winning, but struggling through the wins. Everything is clicking now, and producing such a nice clean game again.
